About Me...

My name is Sarah Catherine. I’m from the south, so to many people’s surprise – that’s just my first name. There are a lot of Sarah’s...and anyways, I like to keep things interesting. I’m 25 years young and likely one of the most passionate people you’ll ever meet.

I love the idea of changing the world however, as I’ve aged, I’ve come to realize how detrimental it can be to set those types of expectations on myself and instead I’ve settled for changing a few people’s worlds, or even just one. I’m a people person – but an extremely introverted one. I thrive in small, close-knit groups, and I love heart-felt, in-depth conversations. Busy talk makes me uncomfortable.

I’m one short semester away from graduating from the University of Michigan where I majored in Violin Performance and minored in Creative writing. I’ve held many different titles in my life – but most recently some of those titles include: daughter, fiance, friend, nanny, teacher, and dog-mom. Oh yeah, I’m one of those crazy dog ladies. You’ll see pictures of my sweet pup scattered throughout this website – and not only is she adorably cute (I realize I may be biased, but come on – look at that face), but she also has her Emotional Support Animal (ESA) license. She has literally saved my life. More than once.

I can only get by with a little (lot of) help from my friends – my tribe, my village of people. They say, “it takes a village” and now more than ever in my life, I know that to be true. That’s what this website is about – it’s about building your village and your support network. It’s about providing resources to those who suffer with chronic illness(es) and their families. It’s about promoting the truth: You are not alone in this.

In May of 2018, after 6 months of testing, different medications, different doctors, 2 weeks in the hospital, and medical bills adding up to over $50,000.00 I was formally diagnosed with Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension. It has been a journey and it’s not over yet. It is my goal and my passion to create a community of like-minded people – either those who suffer themselves from a chronic illness or the loved ones of suffers – a place to turn to in your time of need and in your desperation. Don’t let your illness convince you that you’re the only one.

You’re not the only one.

And you’re not alone.

It’s time to build a community unlike any that’s been built before.

Jordan Lee Dooley says it best:

“Your brokenness is welcome here.”

-With love,

Sarah Catherine
